ABOUT US

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission at Windmill Theatre Company is to encourage a collective of student creativity and originality, and ultimately looks to put on intriguing and heartfelt works of the theatre that will be enjoyed not only by the New College community, but the surrounding Sarasota area as well.

HISTORY

Founded in 2013 in conjunction with a Student Theatre Company-Building Tutorial for the Spring 2013 semester, The Windmill Theatre Company was originally imagined as the New College of Florida Student Theatre Company, a non-profit student-run organization providing opportunities for theatrical experience in the New College community. The founding members of the tutorial developed this theatre company with the support of New College theatre faculty, Professor Nova Myhill.

WINDMILL TODAY

The Windmill Theatre Company has grown significantly since its inception in 2013. From hosting popular events such as No Shame and New Scripts regularly, to creating new events like New Directions, the company is constantly evolving and expanding, with the help of our faculty advisor, Dr. Diego Villada and Black Box Theatre technical director, Tim O'Donnell. Meetings are held every Friday in the Black Box Theatre from

5:00 pm-6:00pm, and any student interested in seeing how Windmill runs or wants to be the first to hear about upcoming events is welcome to attend.
